Executive coaching networking breakfast

Does executive coaching provide a return on investment?

Maree McPherson Executive Coaching
Local coach and mentor Maree McPherson will talk about executive coaching and return on investment at a networking breakfast in Warragul on 14 September

Executive coaching has become the approach of choice in management development and as such has established itself as a standard in some industries.

There are significant benefits to organisations from coaching.  Does executive coaching provide a return on investment?  Can we measure it in financial terms, or are we foolish to even try?

Find out at the next Baw Baw Business & Community Network Events breakfast to be held at the Warragul Reception & Conference Centre on Thursday, 14 September 2017, supported by Federation Training and Telstra.

Guest speaker Maree McPherson is a coach, mentor, facilitator, and writer and works with corporate organisations, not-for-profits and individuals.  In her leadership development practice, Maree helps people aspire beyond what they think they are capable of.

With over 30 years’ experience, Ms McPherson is an experienced not for profit, government and community leader, and small business owner.  She is a creator of strong relationships across multiple stakeholder groups and a proven effective broker of partnerships, including as a CEO and in the public and for purpose (not for profit) domains.

Because she is passionate about community leadership, Ms McPherson chaired the advisory committee for the Gippsland Community Leadership Program for several years. Her fundamental belief in the power of education to change lives led Ms McPherson to become a member of the Victorian Adult, Community and Further Education Board for over five years.

Her commitment to developing regional Victoria saw Ms McPherson appointed by the Victorian Government to Chair the Gippsland Regional Partnerships committee for a four-year term from August 2016, and she is also member of the Victorian Government’s Regional Development Advisory Committee.

The networking breakfast is $35 for a hot plated breakfast and will be held from 7.00am to 9.00am on Thursday, 14 September.  Pre-event registration is essential with registrations due 6 September.

Get Your Business Online – Wed 30 May

An event for business owners who have zero or close to zero online presence. It assumes no technical skill whatsoever, and walks people through the very first few steps of getting their business visible online, from getting their business on Google Maps, to listing their business in online directories like TrueLocal and Yellow Pages. We also give a beginner-level overview of whether their business could benefit from social media or a website, and the pros and cons of both, as well as which social media platform is right for their type of business.

#SheHacks Gippsland Meetup Dinner – Sat 27 May

As part of the #SheHacks program run by Girl Geek Academy, we’re organising a few special events for Gippsland women interested in building startup businesses together. We ran an earlier training bootcamp in April; this event will bring together women who attended the earlier training bootcamp as well as other women interested in business/tech who couldn’t make it on the day. We’ll give a summary of what a hackathon is and how it works for those who couldn’t attend, as well as provide time for attendees to share startup ideas, ask questions and help each other out with preparing for the hackathon.

Gippsland Tech & Business Meetup – Fri 9 June

We’ve just set up a Warragul-based meetup group for business owners, techies, entrepreneurs, freelancers and people in marketing, design or online technology. If you’re interested in any of those topics, please join the meetup group to meet other likeminded people in your local area and learn from each other!

Geoff Green will discuss smart business exit strategies

Getting properly rewarded for your blood, sweat and tears in your business

The next Baw Baw Business & Community Network Events dinner will be held at the Warragul Reception & Conference Centre on Wednesday, 24 May.

Whether you’re a baby boomer business owner close to retirement, busy growing your business or a young entrepreneur just starting, one day you will exit your business. But will you achieve a smart business exit?

Guest speaker Geoff Green is one of Australia’s leading business exit strategists and author of “The Smart Business Exit: Getting Rewarded for your Blood, Sweat, and Tears,” and will share his key insights on business exit strategies.  Attendees will receive a copy of his book.

Over a 30 year career in corporate law, business consulting and his own business ventures, Mr Green has helped hundreds of business owners not only build great businesses, but also get rewarded for their blood, sweat and tears when they exit.

Mr Green has also been involved in his own business exits. In particular, he was a co-founder and the initial managing director of Bendigo Stock Exchange, which was established as a start-up company and sold five years later to the National Stock Exchange.

He is also a member of the international advisory board of The Value Builder System, a North American organisation developing one of the world’s largest and fastest growing networks of business exit advisers.

Mr Green will also deliver his presentation to a breakfast event in Traralgon and a lunch event in Inverloch the following day, Thursday 25 May.

The networking dinner is $40 for a two course meal and will be held at 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start on Wednesday, 24 May.  Pre-event registration is essential with registrations due 19 May.

For registration or more information email kirstyn@gippslandem.com.au or phone 0413 187 576 or visit the Gippsland Community Network Events Facebook page.
