Cybersecurity: keeping yourself, your business and customers safe online
Small business is an easy target for 47 per cent of cyber crimes and the need for small business to harness cybersecurity as a business management tool can no longer be ignored.
Over the last 12 months, cybercriminals have specifically targeted small business owners, from the WannaCry ransomware attack that caused several Australian small businesses to lose access to their data, to sophisticated email hacking scams where criminals stole millions of dollars from Australian law firms and real estate agents.
The introduction of mandatory data breach reporting also means that many small businesses are now at risk of 6-figure fines if they don’t inform their customers when they experience a security breach.
GippsTech founder Elena Kelareva will help you understand cybersecurity risks and how to protect yourself, your business and customers.
Her talk will uncover the biggest risks; security for your network and hardware devices; password security and keeping hackers from gaining access to your online accounts; how to protect your website visitors’ data and prevent hackers from taking down your website; and how to prevent email scammers from stealing money from your business.
